Yes, the show’s TikTok is back at it after the boba-tea-cultural-appropriation-gate with a new clip from a business entrepreneur who, get ready, works a full-time job.

Introducing Barry from Balu Organics, an organic ball pit manufacturer. Dragon Wes Hall declares at the start of the video that he would not invest in the business since it is a “side hustle.”

 

 

“I don’t want to refer to it as a side gig. This is my child. I have strong feelings about this. Barry replies, “You have a 9 to 5,” but dragon Manjit Minhas interrupts, “I can’t tell you how many nights I’ve slept in the warehouse in one of these things.”

 

Wes asks Barry why he isn’t pursuing his “passion,” to which Barry responds, “So living in Toronto is very, very expensive, and when you’re doing a startup business, you can’t really take that chance.” Then many of the dragons interject, saying, “I did.”

 

 

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t,” Barry continues. Not everyone has the capacity to accomplish that. In addition, I have two very small kids. Wes responds that he has three kids and that he won’t put money into a company that views its operations as “secondary.”

 

Come on, Simu. “I must admit that I disagree with this. “Obviously, investors want their founders to put their business first,” he says. “However, the practical reality of many people launching firms later in life is that they have obligations to fulfill. That shouldn’t be the only thing that discourages you from investing, in my opinion. That’s all.
