Barack Obama breaks his silence on Trump’s election victory with a frank admission on results

Following the delivery of Vice President Kamala Harris’ concession address, Barack Obama finally responded to the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

Michelle Obama, the former president and first lady, congratulated Donald Trump in a statement, but she also acknowledged that “this is obviously not the outcome we hoped for.”

In the final weeks before November 5, the pair traveled on Harris’ campaign trail as their involvement in the 2024 election grew.

However, Harris was unable to cross the finish line despite the Obamas’ support and the associated star power.

‘America is not immune’ to having an electorate that responds appropriately to the nation’s circumstances, according to the joint statement of Barack and Michelle Obama. This ultimately resulted in Republicans winning landslides across the nation and in state and national elections.

The former first couple wrote, “America has been through a lot over the last few years.”

“We won’t always see eye to eye on everything in a country as big and diverse as ours,” the statement acknowledges. “However, progress demands that we show grace and good faith, even to those with whom we have strong disagreements.”

The message was made public to X soon after Harris publicly and formally conceded the election to Trump during remarks she made Wednesday afternoon from her alma school, Howard University in Washington, D.C.

As she admitted defeat on Wednesday, Harris encouraged her distraught supporters in Washington, D.C., to keep fighting.

Nearly 12 hours after the official call for her Republican opponent’s race, the distraught and tearful vice president said, “This is not what we wanted,” her voice trembling.

Her devoted fans gathering at Howard University jeered her when she announced she had spoken with the former president and promised to assist in the peaceful transition of power.

The former president has already won five of the seven swing states as of Wednesday afternoon, and the odds are in his favor in the other two, Arizona and Nevada. In order to solidify his overwhelming victory, he is on track to receive 300 Electoral College votes.

Harris declared, “I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign, even though I concede this election.”
