Donald Trump picks former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle as ambassador to Greece

President-elect Donald Trump named Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News anchor who has been romantically linked with his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and a longstanding loyalist who campaigned actively with him, as his ambassador to Greece on Tuesday.

Trump posted on social media, “Kimberly has been a close friend and ally for many years.” “Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad.”

Guilfoyle co-hosted “The Five” and was a prosecutor before spending more than ten years at Fox News.

In a post on X, she expressed how “honored” she was to receive the nomination.

Guilfoyle is the most recent member of the Trump family to be appointed to a position in his second term. Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, was appointed ambassador to France by the president-elect. Additionally, Trump appointed Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, Massad Boulos, to an administrative position. Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, were part of the president-elect’s first administration.

After being summoned, Guilfoyle testified before the House committee looking into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by a group of Trump supporters who wanted to rig the 2020 election. The committee chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss, said she was at the White House on the day of the attack.

She was formerly wed to California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom. In 2006, they got divorced. Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. recently became engaged.
