During a recent movie night at her house, Drew Barrymore’s daughter and Adam Sandler’s daughter watched 50 First Dates together, she disclosed on her talk show.
The actress/host did not disclose which of their children were viewing the film in a Monday episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, but she claimed that their joy over it made it a “sweet and wonderful” experience for her as a mother.
“My daughter and Adam’s daughter were watching 50 First Dates at my house the other night,” she said. “Why are you guys watching this?” I said. Isn’t your dad and I enough for you?
Barrymore and her ex-husband Will Kopelman have two daughters: Frankie, 10, and Olive, 12. Meanwhile, Sandler and his wife, Jackie Sandler, have two teenage kids, Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 18.
Peter Segal directed their romantic comedy, which was released shortly before Valentine’s Day in 2004 and made over $198 million worldwide.
Barrymore played a lady in the film who, following a car accident, lost her memories every single day. Sandler portrayed a man who, in spite of her illness, pursued her.
Barrymore has disclosed that the film was originally intended to have a completely different ending and the title was intended to be “50 First Kisses.”

She said on her show in August that the original conclusion was her saying, “You should go and live your life, because this is no life here.” As he leaves, he returns and enters the restaurant, where he simply sits down and introduces himself as Henry. The movie then comes to an end.
Barrymore and Sandler have starred in other movies.
Barrymore also posted a heartfelt video to her Instagram earlier this year, recalling her time costarring with Sandler in The Wedding Singer.
Barrymore wrote, “I love you so much @adamsandler,” as the description for the photo. “The Wedding Singer came on my TV as I was getting ready to leave the house and I had to take in this moment and watch it.”
“We produced a really fantastic film. You have my undying love. In the video (below), she wished everyone a happy new year.
