Nine months after receiving the devastating diagnosis of leukemia, NFL writer Doug Kyed announced the death of his two-year-old daughter.
According to sources, the shocking blow was delivered to tiny Hallie Kyed in April 2023. The Boston Herald employee Doug, her father, announced on Instagram that his daughter had lost her struggle in January 2021.
After Hallie relapsed after receiving a bone marrow transplant, Kyed disclosed that things had become worse.
Doug stated, “Hallie passed away quietly in her sleep on Sunday morning while Jen and I held her hands in bed.” “Without Hallie, we’re sad and totally lost. Nothing will ever be the same in our life.
Doug stated after Hallie’s relapse that the family was making an effort to be optimistic in spite of the clear challenges facing his daughter.

At the moment, the reporter declared, “I’m choosing to stay positive.”
“Hallie has overcome every challenge that AML has presented to her thus far. This will undoubtedly be her worst test, but our ferocious little Hallie Bear is the only one who can overcome it.
The whole family spent extra time at the hospital last week because Doug acknowledged that they “knew the prognosis was poor when she relapsed after her bone marrow transplant, but we held out hope for remission because of how brave, strong, and resilient Hallie had been throughout her entire nine-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia and all of its complications.”
Acute myeloid leukemia begins in the bone marrow but swiftly spreads to the blood, according to the American Cancer Society. After that, it may spread to the central nervous system, liver, spleen, and lymph nodes.

Since his daughter’s diagnosis last year, Doug has spent nearly half of his nights at Boston’s Children Hospital, he told the Boston Herald.
He clarified, “My wife and I have alternated between taking care of Hallie and our 5-year-old, Olivia, at home.”
Jen, Doug’s wife, on the other hand, said that losing her daughter was like having a hole in her heart.
Jen Kyed revealed, “I have a huge hole in my heart, and the pain is unbearable.” “I’ll never comprehend how or why something so terrible could occur.”
