Fuming Miss Universe fans insist Miss Thailand was ROBBED of victory as Miss Denmark is crowned winner for the first time in the competition’s history
Last night, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark was proclaimed Miss Universe 2024, making her the first Dane to win the title.
However, irate beauty contest supporters claimed Miss Thailand Suchata Chuangsri was denied the victory at the 73rd Miss Universe final on Saturday night in Mexico City on X, now known as Twitter.
The 21-year-old Phuket area native, who attends Thammasat University’s Faculty of Political Science to study international relations, dazzled viewers with her responses during the question period.
Third-runner Suchata responded, “Empathy, because no matter how good you are, no matter what kind of education you have, in the end, you need empathy to care about your people,” when asked what traits a really great leader must possess.
‘Miss Thailand was robbed,’ spectators raced to social media as Miss Denmark left with the crown. One commenter wrote: ‘Her responses for both of the questions were on target and has struck its mark!’
Another said: “I completely agree with you on that one. Miss Thailand was robbed.” She didn’t find the bandla sympathy party effective this time.
“Miss Thailand was robbed from the crown smfh,” another person said. “Miss Thailand was robbed of best first answer,” another person said.
“Miss Nigeria and Miss Thailand were so robbed,” someone else remarked.

After undergoing surgery at the age of 16 to remove a breast tumor that was 10 centimeters in diameter, Suchata made the decision to participate in beauty pageants in order to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Born on September 20, 2003, the beauty speaks Thai, English, and Chinese. In the southern island province, her family owns and operates a hotel.
Prior to competing in her first Miss Rattanakosin pageant in 2021, Suchata worked as a model. She placed third runner-up with a special award, Miss Natural Beauty, making her the youngest competitor in Miss Universe Thailand 2022.
As the first Nigerian to place first runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant, Miss Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina, who was also a fan favorite, created history.
Following criticism of her nationality and accusations from South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs regarding her mother’s paperwork, the beauty withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition, bringing drama to her journey to Miss Universe.
She later received an invitation to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria, where she defeated 24 other competitors to win.
Chidimma was asked, “Which is more important, being liked or being respected; and why?” during the question round.
‘We live in a culture where we frequently don’t feel respected because of who we are, and I feel like when you respect yourself, you respect others around you,’ the beauty queen responded.

When Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark won the title of Miss Universe 2024, she created history.
In a spectacular performance, the aspiring lawyer and stunning competitive dancer defeated over 120 other competitors and took the tiara from Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, the current title holder.
In a floor-length, pink, shimmering, strapless gown that emphasized her curves, the 21-year-old stole the show. The glistening ensemble had beaded off-shoulder details and elaborate sequin decoration throughout.
When American host Mario Lopez and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo revealed the name, Victoria started crying.
After the contenders were reduced to a shortlist of thirty, five of them were asked questions about a variety of subjects, such as resilience and leadership.
Victoria responded, “I live by each day,” when asked what she would alter about her life if no one were to judge her.
In response to a question from the judges, the Danish beauty advised fans to “keep fighting … no matter where you come from.”
“I’m standing here today because I want to make history and I want a change, and I’m doing that tonight,” she declared.
Suchata, who was the third runner-up, was asked what qualities must someone have to be a truly successful leader, she replied: ‘Empathy’

Victoria was a Viking goddess in the first national costume round, which included glittering costumes that reflected each contestant’s favorite aspects of their native countries.
On Instagram, she wrote: “This costume tells the story of those remarkable figures – women who led their clans, navigated the seas, and celebrated the beauty of life through their courage.”
First runner-up was María Fernanda Beltrán of Mexico, second runner-up was Cnidimma Adetshina of Nigeria, and the top 12 also included competitors from Thailand, Bolivia, Venezuela, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Russia, Chile, Canada, and Peru.
In order to be more inclusive, the contest this year welcomed Miss Universe UAE Emilia Dobreva and other married and first-time mothers.
Age and body type were also no longer limitations; last year, Jane Dipika Garrett, the first plus-size competitor to earn the title of Miss Universe Nepal, was among the final 20.
