Michael Strahan, a former Super Bowl champion who now hosts Good Morning America, and his daughter Isabella Strahan talked candidly about Isabella’s year-long fight with brain cancer in an interview with Town and Country.
Isabella Strahan, who was 19 at the time, received a diagnosis of cerebellar medulloblastoma in October 2023. She had multiple rounds of treatment and operations within the past year.

Now that she is cancer-free, she is returning to USC.
Isabella Strahan told Town and Country, “I get to start my freshman year again, and I hope I’m there for longer than 50 days this time.”
Seeing his daughter return to school excites Michael Strahan as well. Michael remarked, “I can’t wait for her to return to college and live, to resume her previous activities and have fun, including football games and sororities, and most importantly, to attend classes and achieve excellent grades.”
Isabella Strahan, who recently celebrated turning 20, said she felt “like I’m 50 years old, with all this life experience,” along with her twin sister Sophia Strahan.

She said to Town and Country, “I feel like I’ve grown in many ways.” “I’m so happy that I can walk and communicate once more. You don’t realize how much you can do until you have to live without it.
Michael Strahan acknowledged that he was afraid his daughter would pass away, saying, “As a parent, to see that was unsettling at times.”
“As a parent, you say, ‘Whoa,’ when you learn that your child has cancer. Your brain automatically considers the worst-case scenario and then works its way back, so you need to be in charge of your ideas. I doubt that I will be able to live the rest of my life without worrying about this in one way or another.
He described his daughter’s struggles as “tough and painful,” adding that “Isabella has inspired and helped us all by how she has approached what she was facing throughout this entire journey.” She has put in so much effort and has such a wonderful spirit.
Isabella Strahan is still recovering even though she is cancer-free.

She was battling double vision and balance problems at the time of the interview, and she was actively working to regain the weight she had lost during her treatments.
The college student also told Town and Country that she is eating a balanced diet and getting MRIs every two months to make sure nothing has changed while she recovers.
“It is very comforting to know that my doctors do not believe it will recur.”
