In a statement to Us Weekly, BoxLunch said, “We are devastated by the passing of Dominique Brown, a beloved member of the BoxLunch Collective, who suffered a medical emergency at an event hosted by BoxLunch Thursday in Los Angeles.” “We will do everything in our power to support her family and friends, as well as the BoxLunch Collective members and our team, during this difficult time.”
According to a source, 911 was contacted right away, and the business had already informed the venue of the customers’ sensitivities. For both employees and the BoxLunch Collective—the group of influencers they frequently collaborate with, of whom Brown was a member—BoxLunch is providing grieving counseling. The event is being investigated independently by the company.
On Thursday, December 5, influencer Dominique Brown passed away from a serious allergic reaction while attending an industry event. Her age was 34.
Following a BoxLunch gathering, where participants claimed that Brown had died after inadvertently swallowing food to which she was allergic, word of her passing spread. Several social media users claimed via X that BoxLunch, the event’s host, was aware of Brown’s allergy.
BoxLunch has been contacted by Us Weekly for comment. Under the screen handle HellooDomo, Brown, a Californian, was an influencer who was influenced by Disney. After observing a dearth of representation in the Disney influencer market, she and Mia Von cofounded BlackGirlDisney in 2018 to build a friendly network for women of color who enjoy the company’s movies and theme parks.
Her brother thanked her fans in the comments section of her last Instagram post. He posted, “Hello everyone, this is Dominique’s brother, @pramos313,” on Friday, December 6. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to her social media family for their unwavering love and support. Disney did make her happy, but she had never encountered a community that shared her passion for the company. My sister, best friend, and her contagious smile will be missed. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️🥺
In their responses to Brown’s most recent video, a number of Disney influencers expressed their condolences, with many praising her kind, amiable personality and her attempts to foster a community that is safe and encouraging.
Tatiana Kelley, who also goes by Dapper on the Daily, added, “The sweetest, most sincere person in this community …we will miss you Domo💛.” “Thank you for being so welcoming to all of us and for bringing joy and humor into our lives🤍🕊️.”
“I’m very glad I had the opportunity to give you a hug last week,” said Katy Lane, also known as Main St Muse. You were and will always be the best person in the world, Dom. Your optimism and enthusiasm for life will always motivate me.
In one of her Instagram Stories tributes, Andrea Pugh Kelley wrote, “My girl built this community and inspired so many others.” And I’ll make sure no one ever forgets that.
A tribute was also posted by the Disney sneaker podcast “Kicks at the Castle,” which claimed that Brown’s “warmth and joy that truly stole the show” were the highlight.

The memorial said, “Our hearts go out to her family and especially to our brother Zay.” “Your love and happiness were like something out of a Disney fairy tale—a tale of fashion, joy, and motivation for everyone who knew you.”
Kicks at the Castle member Isaiah Campbell responded, “😣😫😭 This is going to be a really difficult journey for me, but I’m glad I have a community to support me at every turn. We love you, Dominique 🤎🕊️. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments and encouragement.
He posted multiple pictures of himself and Brown holding hands on his Instagram account, writing, “I will always love you, Dominique Brown.” I appreciate the time we had together and the happiness you brought to both me and other people.
