Lidl launches rival Coca-Cola Christmas truck with full list of UK locations and dates

Holidays are approaching, approaching, approaching… I take it you’re singing it now?

The Coca-Cola Christmas commercial is the official signal that it’s time to get festive, as everyone knows. Additionally, it appears that the company has a competitor this year, since it confirmed the return of its yearly truck trip.

Yes, Lidl will arrive. The supermarket has unveiled a complete list of UK venues and dates for its own large red Christmas cola truck tour.

This truly takes the cake—or, I suppose, the coke—just when you thought Aldi vs. M&S with their caterpillar cakes was the high point.

Beginning next week, Lidl’s truck will travel to nine cities, promoting its own brand of cola drink, Freeway.

The retailer will distribute more than 2,000 present boxes, food shops, and samples at each of its stops.

Additionally, if you visit one of the tour sites, you will have the opportunity to submit your own small Christmas wish, which Lidl is reportedly planning to fulfill. However, guys, perhaps have some common sense and stop wishing for a Tesla or a new car.

Giving back to the communities we serve is very important to us, and this year, our exciting new Freeway truck lets us to reach right into the heart of them,” stated Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB.

“We’ll be using our enormous truck to deliver gift boxes, provide festive food stores, and fulfill wishes as we make nine stops around the nation.

“Most importantly, come join the fun and keep an eye out for the Freeway truck on its tour.”

The complete list of Lidl Freeway cola truck sites is as follows:

Dundee, November 14
Harrogate on November 16; Hull on November 17; Nottingham on November 21; and Wolverhampton on November 23
Wrexham, November 24
Luton, November 28
November 30, Bournemouth
Southampton, December 1st

This news comes after Coca-Cola’s, whose 2024 Christmas Truck Tour seeks to combat hunger and food waste by supporting FareShare, the nation’s largest charity.

The soft drink business hopes to donate up to one million meals through the charity during Christmas season, with the equivalent of one meal being donated on behalf of each attendee.
