New update on GTA 6 issued by Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two

There have been several updates on the much awaited Grand Theft Auto VI game after today’s meeting with Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two.

Millions of fervent fans took to social media when Grand Theft Auto 6 was initially revealed in December 2023. They were just thrilled to receive a release date for the video game, which had been in development for 11 years.

A few possible features, including the introduction of in-game social media, round-the-clock news stations, police body cam footage, and more, were alluded to in the 90-second clip.

‘Grand Theft Auto VI, coming 2025’ was all that was written at the end.

GTA 6 is still scheduled for release in the fall of 2025, according to documents released by Rockstar’s parent business ahead of an earnings call with Take-Two.

A press release stated: “With many exciting new titles coming in fiscal 2026 – including GTA 6 in the Fall, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country – we expect to create long-term value for our shareholders.”

The fiscal year that begins in April 2025 and concludes in March 2026 is known as fiscal 2026.

The game appears to be headed for a release date that is comparable to that of its predecessor, which was released on September 17, 2013.

This is the game’s first significant update since the trailer was unveiled, which was allegedly hurried after game footage was leaked on social media in the days prior.

The announcement follows the trailer’s 365-day timeframe, which was plenty for Rockstar fans. The main characters, Lucia and Jason, are expected to have a romance entwined with crime and love, a la Bonnie and Clyde.

The sixth game of the series will return to Vice City, which was influenced by Miami, for the first time since 2002, and the former will be the first female lead in the franchise.

Fans have remained optimistic even after a former Rockstar staffer alluded to a possible 2026 release because of delays on previous titles.
However, Rockstar themselves stated that the game will be made available to PlayStation and Xbox users by 2025, with no mention of PC users, so PC players will have to wait anyhow.

Despite the positive performance of Rockstar’s parent company, a “leaked” date of October 27, 2025, which was just posted on IMDb, has made the rounds on the internet.
