The owners of Peanut the squirrel are still in a state of intense mental turmoil following the seizure and euthanasia of their beloved social media celebrity by New York police. They are now preparing to fight back.
According to Mark Longo and his wife Daniela, they are already involved in a legal action, but they are unable to provide many other specifics at this time. However, ML makes it very evident… “Peanut did not die in vain!”
Because of these anonymous charges, which ML claimed were complete nonsense, they accused the state of abusing its power and squandering taxpayer money to seize and kill Peanut. Their narrative went viral.
Since then, the couple has received a ton of messages on social media from people who are upset about the accusations and saddened by the news.
Mark tells us that while he is heartbroken, he is also filled with gratitude for the support he has received from strangers throughout the nation, which he feels will help him get the answers he is seeking from state and local authorities.
Mark previously told TMZ that on Wednesday, representatives from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation arrived at his house bearing a search warrant that was approved by a court and four state agencies.
After being removed, Peanut and one of the couple’s pet raccoons were later put down due to rabies tests.
According to him, Peanut lived with him contentedly for seven years, becoming his best buddy while sharing happy movies on the internet.
Mark is convinced that little Peanut will get what he deserves, either in this world or the next.
