Superstar’s 3-year-old son dies two weeks after tragic river accident

The tragic death of Levi Wright, the infant son of rodeo star Spencer Wright, has occurred.

On May 21, the three-year-old passed away from a catastrophic brain injury he had received in a near-drowning episode.

Levi fell into a river while operating a tractor toy. After being hurried to the hospital in Salt Lake City, he was admitted. Levi was found unconscious by local police about a mile downstream.

Despite being first deemed brain dead and not expected to live, Levi continued to show indications of recovery.

Levi awoke! We don’t know much, so I’m shook, but the doctor said I could get happy about it, and I am! My infant is really resilient! Kallie Wright, his mother, shared something on Facebook.

Unfortunately, the MRI results from the next day “weren’t good.”

“Even though we’re broken, the pictures only convey a particular standard of living. What Levi does over the next few days will be our true teller of all,” Kallie said.

While friends and family prayed for his recovery, his battle went on.

Unfortunately, the family had to make a very difficult choice.
“We are here in the face of our biggest fear after many sleepless nights, a ton of research, numerous conversations with the best neurologists in the world, and millions of prayers,” she wrote. Levi gave us just enough to buy us some time to deal with everything. We prayed that he would overcome the odds and show us that he wanted to stay, but now we know that he wanted to give us some time to come to terms with letting him leave.

The family made the decision to remove Levi from life support after several scans and tests and discussions with the medical staff.

Mindy Sue Clark, a family acquaintance, verified the news of Levi’s untimely death.

“The past two weeks have been extremely difficult; I am at a loss for words. From the time my phone rang the night of his accident until I got the notification last night that he had to go. Even though it seems like someone tore out and squeezed my heart in front of me, I don’t want to dwell on the negative or depressing. I wish to draw attention to the numerous miracles that we were all able to witness during those twelve days.

“The world’s most ideal three-year-old.” He was so ideal that we were unable to keep him. Over the past 12 days, this infant boy has made tremendous progress. He united so many individuals. Through the actions of a child, we were able to find light in a very dark world. He is all his parents could have hoped for.

We sincerely apologize for this tragic loss. Levi, may you rest in peace.
