The world-champion diver jumps down the extreme water slide despite the sign that says “no women.”

Do you have any idea how telling someone not to do something may make you want to do it more?

Rhiannan Iffland, a professional diver from Australia, experienced just this when she went to a water park in Austria and noticed a slide that was off-limits to women.

Rhiannan had experience in extreme water activities and was a high-diver, having made successful dives from as high as 20 meters (66 ft).

But this journey would be entirely distinct from all of her past achievements.

The 33-year-old learned that one of the most intimidating slides at the Area 47 adventure park in Austria had a strict “no women” sign.

Rhiannan saying, “Women are not supposed to do this slide,” but she disregards the warning in favor of “YOLO.”

After the diver’s friend counts her in, Rhiannan can be seen screaming out of fear or excitement as she speeds down the 50 mph slide.

“Here for a good time not a long time!” was the caption she wrote when she posted the video to Instagram. Another instance of YOLO.

Why is the slide at Austria’s Area 47 adventure park off limits to women?
After the video went viral, many people started to wonder why there was a slide that left out about half of the adult population.

Was there sexism involved? A complex practical joke?

No, it turns out that safety and health are the cause.

High-speed water slides have reportedly ‘torn apart’ the insides of women in recent years.

Which, if I’m being totally honest, sounds terrible.

In addition to the possibility of illnesses from the foreign bodies in the water, women can suffer horrifying injuries if high-pressure water gets inside their bodies, according to the US National Library of Medicine.

The safety warning makes perfect sense when you put it that way.

Later, in an interview with news.com.au, Rhiannan would explain why she chose to go on the slide, saying that it was “never my intent to mock the safety regulations.”

“A person’s safety is paramount and I am constantly weighing up any danger with my job,” she said. “To suggest otherwise, is wrong.”

In response to the widely shared video, Area 47 Adventure Park informed LADbible Group that although the slide was initially accessible to both men and women, rules have subsequently been revised in light of “a significant increase in accidents on this slide.”

“This led to a difficult decision: either disassemble the water slide or restrict its use to men only, as it stands now,” according to a spokeswoman.

“Our highest priority is ensuring the safety and happiness of all our guests, regardless of gender.”
