Cowboy Carter receives 11 Grammy nominations, surpassing spouse Jay-Z’s total.

With 11 nominations for the 2025 Grammys, Beyonce has surpassed her husband Jay-Z in the all-time Grammy nomination count.

The 43-year-old singer dominated the Grammy Award field and received a nomination for Album Of The Year for Cowboy Carter, her foray into country music.

Record and song of the year for the single “Texas Hold ‘Em” were among Beyonce’s other Grammy nominations.

She received 11 nominations throughout her lifetime, more than any other artist, bringing her total to 99. Before Friday, she and 54-year-old Jay-Z, who has 88 wins and 24 victories, were equal for first place.

Cowboy Carter has also surpassed Michael Jackson’s thriller and her previous albums, Renaissance and Lemonade, to become the most Grammy nominated album of all time.

Pictured at the 2024 Grammys, Beyonce’s 11 nominations for the 2025 ceremony had exceeded her husband Jay-Z’s total number of Grammy nominations.

Beyonce has won 32 Grammys over her career, more than any other artist, but she has never won an album award.

With seven nominations apiece, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish tied for second place behind Beyonce.

The pop phenomenon Newcomers Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift each scored six points.

The top Grammy award, album of the year, was dominated by women.

With her breakup album, The Tortured Poets Department, Swift, who has won Album of the Year four times, is once again vying for the title.

Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet,” Charli XCX’s “Brat,” Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” and Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” will all compete alongside Beyonce and Swift’s albums at the awards event on February 2.

Rapper Andre 3000’s “New Blue Sun” and jazz musician Jacob Collier’s “Djesse Vol. 4” were the two male artists nominated in the album category.

The approximately 13,000 singers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and other members of the Recording Academy will select the winners.

The Beatles are another name on the Grammy nomination list. “Now and Then,” which was created using artificial intelligence to mimic John Lennon’s voice, received a nomination for song of the year.

Beyonce, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan were nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims were all named Best New Artists.

Cowboy Carter, F-1, Deeper Well, Higher, and Whirlwind were awarded Best Country Album.

Beyoncé’s song “Texas Hold ‘Em” won Song of the Year. The song Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish Chappell Roan: Best of luck, sweetie! Beyoncé’s 16 Carriages was the best country solo performance. Jelly Roll’s “I Am Not Okay,” Chris Stapleton’s “It Takes a Woman,” Kacey Musgraves’ “The Architect,” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song” (Tipsy).

Shogun, The Color Purple, American Fiction, Challengers, and Dune: Part Two were awarded Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media (Includes Film and Television).

On Friday at 8 a.m. Pacific and 11 a.m. Eastern, the Grammy website and the Recording Academy’s YouTube account will stream live the announcement of the nominees.

Jim Gaffigan and Gayle King were among the celebrities who listed off the nominations.

Nominations were limited to recordings that were commercially released in the United States between September 16, 2023, and August 30, 2024.
