Vaginal fluids are used as a type of perfume in this practice, which is said to increase sexual attractiveness. Scientists aren’t sure this approach is effective, though.

Numerous remedies and rituals have been used in the past to assist women find loving mates. The pursuit of attraction has been around for ages, from romantic home cooking to love potions. However, the “vabbing” habit on TikTok goes beyond this. Women use their own vaginal secretions, such as perfume, in this situation, stating that it makes them more attractive and attracts possible mates.

In her book The Game of Desire, sexologist Shan Boodram examines the idea of vabbing. Boodram, who claims to have vabed for 15 years, claims that it works well for drawing people. “Those attracted to women with vulvas will be attracted to copulins [chemicals secreted by the vagina] if they are used as perfume,” she explains. Boodram claims that vabbing gives her a sense of empowerment, likening the experience to that of “an enchanted goddess with a delicious secret.”

After TikTok user Mandy Lee shared her experiences in a video, the fad gained greater traction. Her video received over a million views in a short period of time. She asserted, “I promise that vaping will draw people, like dates, or even get free drinks all night.” Mandy’s statements were supported by other users, such as @jewlieah, who shared anecdotes of vabbing leading to a week of love bliss.

In the animal realm, pheromones are well known for being potent chemical messengers. Baby rabbits, for example, use their mother’s pheromones to locate her nipples. La Trobe University’s Drs. Alexandra James and Andrea Wahling clarified that although some scientists are in favor of the notion that pheromones affect attraction, others are not, particularly in the case of humans.

They clarified that “pheromones found in vaginal fluids may provide information about an individual’s genetic composition.” The role of pheromones in human sexual and romantic attraction is still unknown, despite the fact that they are essential for communication in many animals. Whether pheromones have a major effect on human compatibility is still up for debate.

People who are interested in vaping should be aware of the health risks. The Centre for Surgery’s Dr. Dimitriadi emphasizes that cleanliness is crucial even though vaping isn’t intrinsically harmful. She warned that using dirty fingers within the vagina could cause infections and damage to the vaginal tissue, potentially resulting in bacterial vaginosis or pelvic inflammatory disease. Additionally, Dr. Dimitriadi stated that any attempt to attract partners would be thwarted if the discharge had an unpleasant odor due to an existing infection.
