After capturing five of the seven swing states from opponent Kamala Harris and taking the lead in the other two, Nevada and Arizona, President-elect Donald Trump ultimately won by a landslide.

The 78-year-old Republican stunned the world by defeating the Democratic nominee in the crucial battleground states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan. Notably, he also captured four of the five electoral votes in the fiercely disputed state of Nebraska.

As he announced his victory, Trump predicted that America would enter a “golden age.” Harris, however, stated: “This election’s result is not what we hoped for, what we fought for, or what we voted for.

But believe me when I say that as long as we never give up and as long as we continue to fight, the promise of America will always shine brightly.

“I accept this election, but I do not accept the battle that drove this campaign. the struggle for everyone’s right to freedom, opportunity, justice, and dignity.”

While there were celebrations around the nation, not everyone was as happy as Trump’s supporters. Numerous celebrities responded to the news, with some even stating that they were leaving the US as a result of Trump’s victory.
