Jennifer Lopez Is Taking Time to ‘Be Single and Find Herself Again’ After Ben Affleck Divorce (Exclusive)

Following her divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is embracing her single status and feeling strong being alone.

According to an exclusive source in the most recent edition of Us Weekly, Jen wants to take some time to be single and rediscover herself. “She is traveling that path.”

After two years of marriage, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, three months ago. According to court documents that Us was able to get, the couple split up on April 26.

The informant claims that despite their split, Lopez and Affleck remain in touch, primarily because of their kids. (Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony have twins, Max and Emme, who are 16 years old. Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner are parents to three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

The insider claims that Lopez and Affleck “saw each other recently and are still talking,” adding that “things are still amicable.”

The exes are “very involved when it comes to the kids,” according to a second insider who tells Us that Lopez and Affleck might get back together for their families’ holidays.
The second source maintains that Lopez is not seeking to resume her romance with Affleck, even though they are friendly. Lopez, who is still legally wed to the director of Argo, is also not prepared to start a new relationship.

The insider goes on to say that Lopez and Affleck are still figuring out their breakup and that “she doesn’t want to get into a relationship right away.”

The couple is still awaiting the sale of their $60.8 million joint Beverly Hills residence and has not finalized their divorce. But Lopez has already stated that, even without a guy by her side, she is “excited” about her future.

In October, Lopez told Interview magazine, “I’m not looking for anybody.” “What can I f—ing do when it’s just me flying on my own — what if I’m just free?” “Because everything that I’ve done over the past 25 to 30 years, being in these different challenging situations.”

When it comes to the kind of love relationship she will look for next, the Hustlers actress clarified that “there is no new bar.”
“For romantics who enjoy being in relationships and who hope to spend their golden years with someone, we believe that “[we] have to have it to be whole and happy.” It only took 30 years, Lopez joked after saying, “And you don’t.”

For his part, earlier this month, Affleck praised his separated wife. He said, “Jennifer is spectacular,” on Sunday, November 3, when discussing the actress’s role in their next movie, Unstoppable, on Entertainment Tonight.
