A woman has spoken out about how her ex-boyfriend’s head injury caused him to forget they broke up, which finally resulted in their reconciliation.
Because she was “too overwhelmed by life,” Jenna and her boyfriend Mitchell broke up in February 2020.
A day later, Mitchell had a severe concussion in an accident and lost all memory of the recent breakup.
While skiing, Mitchell Brotherson was involved in an accident.
The split and mishap
Mitchell went skiing at Beaver Mountain in Utah the day following the breakup.
“It was’super icy’ and when he tried to ‘go off a jump,’ the 22-year-old ended up ‘land[ing] on his head’ and blacking out,” People reported.
Mitchell woke up from ‘a very bad concussion’ and had no memory of Jenna abandoning him. He called her to implore her to come get him.
(Instagram/@jobrothersons) Mitchell forgot that he and Jenna had broken up.
“Mitch kept messaging me and trying to hang out after his concussion, and I was confused as to why he would keep messaging me because we had broken up,” Jenna recalled of the perplexing aftermath.
“I reasoned that he might have taken the pledge to remain friends very seriously. He even came to bring us ice cream after I told him that my roommates and I had had a difficult day.
Feeling ‘nervous to swallow [her] pride’, Jenna turned to Mitchell and apologized for ending their relationship, asking if they could resume their relationship.
They both only realized that Mitchell had “no clue” that they had “broken up” in the first place.
Jenna clarified that she had informed him about the split and their conversations when they were in her car, and they had decided to call it quits.
“He told me he didn’t remember any of that except for chatting in the car,” she said. “But he didn’t remember what we chatted about.”
Fortunately, Mitchell “thought it was super funny” that he had forgotten they had split up, and Jenna expressed her “relief.”
She continued: “It made it easy to get back together because to him, we never weren’t together!”

The cheerful conclusion
Five months later, the couple became engaged and were married in September 2020.
Jenna found a solution: “My husband mentioned in his speech that he doesn’t recall the breakup but that he is really thankful that everything turned out okay in the end.
“At the age of 27, we both say that our favorite aspect of our love story is when people ask us about it. All along, we truly sensed unseen threads tying us together.
