According to officials on Friday, the human head that washed up on the beach in South Florida this week belonged to a swimmer who was missing and was 19 years old.

According to Miami Beach police, Victor Enrique Castaneda Jr. vanished on Saturday close to the jetty area at South Pointe Drive. After a three-hour search, Castaneda was not located, according to the authorities.

According to authorities, Castaneda’s remains were discovered Tuesday close to Key Biscayne, and the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner verified this on Friday.

According to a police spokesperson on Saturday, witnesses claimed that a good Samaritan observed Castaneda and his sister struggling in the water and saved the sister first.

The spokesperson claimed that by the time the good Samaritan returned for Castaneda, he had vanished from sight.

Castaneda’s cause and manner of death were not disclosed. According to the police spokeswoman, there is currently nothing to suggest foul play, but the investigation is still ongoing.

According to Miami-Dade police, a beach worker saw a human head floating on the shoreline near a small island near Key Biscayne on Tuesday morning.
Investigators have not yet established if the victim was slain in a slaying or whether a decapitation could have been caused by a marine animal or a boating accident, Miami-Dade police said earlier this week.
