Lana Rhoades Reveals The Scenes Which Led Her To Quit Porn And Call For It To Be Banned

The former adult film star’s employment in the industry left her depressed and contemplating suicide.

Despite being a highly sought-after name in the adult film industry at the height of her career, Lana Rhoades had a “dark side” to her success that the public was less aware of.

When Lana started working in the adult film industry, she was still a teenager. Her career would only last eight months until she decided it wasn’t for her.

Why did she leave? She was requested to participate in some situations because of their nature.

The effects of Lana’s brief tenure in the industry are still felt even though she has moved away from adult films a few years ago and is now concentrating on producing material for YouTube and podcasts.

 

 

Lana opened up in a very direct and emotional chat on her podcast, 3 Girls 1 Kitchen, in 2022.

She discussed the ‘humiliating’ moments she was forced to record and acknowledged her ‘naive’ knowledge of the business before joining it.

“This is going to show how naive I was but when I first got into porn I didn’t know I’d have to have sex,” she said.

“It failed to process or register. I honestly didn’t consider what I would have to do to become a porn star.

At first, Lana told her reps that she wanted to work on sequences with other girls. They did, however, make it apparent that she would not be hired unless she consented to perform boy/girl sequences.

She reluctantly consented and saw that, in an effort to increase their profits, her supervisors started hiring her for more severe stuff.

“They would glamourise doing more for less money because it would make more for them,” Lana said.

 

 

“They don’t care about the girls, they only care about pleasing the producers and film agencies.”

Although she never did anything against her will, Lana acknowledged that she felt under pressure to take on specific roles.

The more popular she became, the more extreme the requests became.

Lana related unsettling tales she had heard from colleagues on the field:

“I have had friends who have been choked out so much they’ve actually passed out during a scene.”

“There’s just really crazy stuff going on that damages people’s bodies for the rest of their lives.”

Even though Lana wasn’t hurt physically, the events had a negative impact on her mental health, which led her to seek therapy.

Looking back on some of the most upsetting moments, the 27-year-old said:

Whether it was being sent to a set with someone who was far too old or being forced to do something I was afraid to do because it was too intense, those three to five experiences were quite painful for me. That, in my opinion, is the main reason I quit the industry.

 

She views her stint as a porn star as a “life sentence” since it continues to affect her even now, years after she left the business.

As a result, she acknowledged that she struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide.

Since then, Lana has pushed for the outlawing of pornography.
