Misty, the singer’s wife, posted an update on Head’s Facebook page after she arrived at the hospital, stating that she had at last “physically put my eyes on him and heard his sweet voice.”
Considering the past few hours, he is in a positive frame of mind. Now, children are in with him. Prayers were answered because the bullet did not do any internal damage. She thanked everyone for their prayers before going into depth about what transpired.
Misty claims that Head was by himself at the ranch at the time of the event.
“No one shot him, and it wasn’t his hunting rifle.” When he reached in to retrieve his 22 while he was outside the car, it sprung out of its holster, struck the outside of the Jeep precisely, and took off. “He could see the bullet dislodging, and it happened so quickly,” she wrote.
Although she initially believed Head had called 911, Misty emphasized that he “didn’t.”
According to the Facebook post, the country music artist “took off down the driveway out to the main road to flag a car down for help” after forgetting his phone. After ten cars, someone called 911 and turned around to assist. He has just informed me that he is currently extremely drugged. He is really fortunate and appreciative to be alive.
The bullet “went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall,” according to Misty, who told admirers, omitting “all vital organs.”
“He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet,” she said. “My mind is hazy right now, but I’m sure [his doctor] explained why. It was fortunate that he was on the larger side. His adipose tissue contains a bullet.
“We appreciate all the prayers and will update everyone soon once we have more info,” Misty said in a statement earlier in the evening to PEOPLE.
Head said, “Misty Head, she’s the true champion!” after his electrifying performance won him The Voice in 2016.
